The Annual Día de la Mujer Leadership and Empowerment Conference is celebrating 26 years of existence. The conference has become an institution in the Midwest region for the empowerment of thousands of Latinas that have attended each year. The success of this community initiative is largely in part by sponsors like you. The goal of the conference is to empower, motivate, inspire, train, and work collectively to expand educational opportunities for Latinas and all women. According to the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics – Latinas in the U.S. (2015), Latinas have the lowest high school graduation rate compared to other major subgroups and are less likely to complete a college degree. The college completion rate is 19 percent compared to nearly 44 percent of white women. Many of the barriers that hold Latinas back relate to poverty and access to health and education. For 26 years, DDLM has been disseminating information & success strategies to Latinas through a series of informative workshops and keynote speakers. Last year we offered 30 workshops that focused on business, finance, education, health, community development, inter-personal growth, self-empowerment, and leadership. Enclosed is a copy of the evaluation report to demonstrate how valuable DDLM is to all who participate.

Furthermore, this conference is an excellent learning and development opportunity for all of our volunteers and participants. It is important to note that DDLM is a community initiative coordinated by Michigan State University where hundreds of volunteers contribute to the development of this great resource. You will be able to reach over 500 people from the fastest growing demographic in the U.S. Your financial contribution will enable us to maintain free registration for students and a low-cost professional empowerment conference experience for all who attend.

We are humbly requesting any Sponsorship Level contribution you can provide to help us meet the $45,000 expected expenses. Here is a list of DDLM Sponsorship Levels for your review. You may write the check to MSU DDLM or pay online on our registration page HERE! We are grateful to have you as a sponsor. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you in advance for your support.
